Living alone in the deep forest, I decided to build a tree house high above the ground for safety and freedom. Using logs, rope, and hand tools, I carefully secured the platform between strong trees, creating a small but sturdy shelter. For days, the forest was calm, filled with birdsong and rustling leaves. One night, everything changed. Heavy footsteps echoed below, and deep growls cut through the darkness. Bears had discovered my tree house.
From above, I watched as they circled the base, sniffing and scratching at the trunks. My heart raced, but the height of the tree house kept me out of reach. I stayed silent, trusting the structure I had built. The bears eventually lost interest and disappeared into the forest, leaving behind broken branches and deep claw marks.
After the attack, I reinforced the ladder, strengthened the supports, and stored food far away to avoid attracting animals again. The experience taught me respect for wildlife and the importance of smart shelter design. Living in the forest is peaceful, but survival demands awareness, preparation, and courage when nature shows its power.
